More ferry woes for Red Funnel as Red Falcon removed for repairs

Passengers with Red Funnel experienced a series of delays yesterday (Monday) due to

Late on Monday afternoon, a spokesperson for Red Funnel told News OnTheWight,

“We are experiencing disruption to our timetable this afternoon. This follows a routine technical inspection which resulted in the need to remove the Red Falcon from service to allow for repairs to be made to the engine due to an issue with the cooling system.”

Red Funnel “sincerely apologise”
The went on to say,

“The safety of our passengers and team is our number one priority and we are working hard to keep traffic moving, with all passengers being transferred to another sailing.

“We do appreciate that this will disrupt people’s plans for today and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.”

Latest position
You can stay up to date with Red Funnel’s service status by visiting the Website. According to it this morning, there are no delays due to Red Falcon being out of service.

However, there are a number of other crossings that have been cancelled partly due to ‘staff being pinged’.
