From 5pm today (Tuesday) until 6am tomorrow, those travelling with cross-Solent operators may experience delays due to thick fog.
Another Be Alert (Yellow) weather warning has been issued by the Met Office, advising that at times the fog will likely be dense, with visibility of less than 100m.
Skirts around the top of the Island
Although the Isle of Wight is not included in the warning, it skirts across the Solent and may affect travel to Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington.
The weather warning reads:
Fog has been persistent in places through Tuesday and is expected to thicken up here during Tuesday evening as well as form in other areas.
The fog will likely be dense with visibility of less than 100m at times.
The fog will persist for many overnight before clearing from the northwest early Wednesday morning.
