If you listen to the national news, you would’ve heard that UK-wide premature mortality rates have been released today.
You’ll be relieved to hear that the Isle of Wight is ranked pretty well in most categories against the rest of the UK. The Island is ranked 49th out of 150 local authorities for premature deaths between 2009-2011.
The statistics
The data reveals mortality rates for those under 75 across a range of categories, such as cancer, heart disease, lung disease, etc.
