The Isle of Wight council can confirm that the majority of people are now able to return to their homes on Leeson Road, following the Bonchurch landslide.
The council has undertaken risk assessments today (12th December), which have shown that most properties are a sufficient distance away from the most affected area to be able to return home.
Some still affected
There are a small number of properties that are still being advised not to return and further technical assessments need to be completed in the coming days.
Residents who are still affected are being supported by the council and will be receiving updates as information becomes available.
Call the helpline
If residents have not yet heard from the council or have any concerns, they can call the helpline on 01983 823 111. Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm. Saturday mornings 9am – 1pm.
Leeson Road road closure is still in place.
