Multiple arrests in Lowtherville following criminal damage and public order offences

Police officers attended a unit on Newport Road in Ventnor Thursday afternoon (29th July) as part of enquiries into an ongoing investigation.

This follows an incident that was reported to Police on Wednesday afternoon involving an altercation between three men outside Chariots of Ventnor on Newport Road.

Criminal damage
Officers are also investigating a report of criminal damage and a public order incident which took place at 5.20pm outside of a property in Lowtherville Road, which are all believed to be linked at this time.

A woman in her 30s suffered minor cuts to her hands. No other injuries have been reported.

Public order offences
A 39-year-old woman from Ventnor was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level is above the limit in connection with this investigation.

She was released with no further action being taken against her for this offence, but has been arrested on suspicion of further public order offences for which she currently remains in police custody.

Possession of an offensive weapon
A 28-year-old man from Ventnor has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He remains in police custody at this time.

An investigation into the circumstances of these incidents is ongoing.
