Music Service Recommendations Rejected By Scrutiny Panel

At tonight’s Children and Young People Scrutiny Panel, members rejected the recommended option put before them on proposed changes to the Isle of Wight Music Service.

Instead they voted for Cllr Dawn Cousins to make a Delegated Decision for a full public consultation, followed by a larger range of options to go back to them at their next meeting in July before going to Cabinet at the end of July.

They also voted for the Music Hub funding bid to continue and for Cllr Pugh to speak to Government to appeal for more funding.

A full report will follow tomorrow (Thursday).

I’m relatively pleased with tonights result, we’ve got some time to explore other options. So if there’s anyone out there who has experience and knowledge in trusts, charities co-ops etc please get in touch. Also if there are any rich people out there who would like to put some money into youth music we’d love to hear from you
