The nashville nights trio performing on stage

Nashville Nights delivers an unforgettable tribute to country music at Newport’s Apollo Theatre

Nashville Nights the smash hit West End musical theatre production – A tribute to American country music blazed into a sold-out performance at Newport’s Apollo Theatre on Saturday 21st February 2026.

The third Operation Geranium Concert, organised by Steve Double, to raise awareness and funds for local voluntary sector charity, Age UK IW.

‘One day we will all grow old’
The Island’s population has a higher percentage of residents enjoying later life, many with complex health concerns, wanting to live independent lives.

Organiser, Steve Double, says,

“St Mary’s hospital remains busy with admissions and discharges helped by the teams managed by Age UK IW.

“Without this care and compassion older people would not feel blessed to belong to a strong Island community.”

Local talent
The Nashville Nights experience opened with the grace and presence of our own authentic Country Blues Songsmith, original artist Angelina Grimshaw.

She was joined by Dave Godby, beautifully playing a rare 60-year-old 100 weight Fender pedal lap steel guitar, to create truly harmonic and gorgeous soundscape of tumbleweed songs.

Nashville Nights Trio
The Nashville Nights Trio, frontline cast members from the hit touring show, brought together seasoned session and recording musicians with a wealth of experience in theatre, pop concert tours and festivals.

They included singer-songwriter, Savannah Gardner, American Music Association’s best new Country Act in the UK nominee for 2025.

Steve added,

“A roller coaster onslaught of country music legend hit songs had The Apollo audience clapping and hollering for more. Bringing the best-in-country music, shows like this rarely come around.

“River Deep, Mountain High, Country Roads Take Me Home, and Nashville Nights come back again.”
