Members of Nettlestone and Seaview Shed design and produce a variety of original hand-crafted wooden gifts and products.
Donations received from the purchase of these products at local events has provided funds to help maintain and run the Shed and, in more recent years, it has enabled members to make generous donations towards local causes.
In August Shed members presented a cheque for £1,000 to the Trustees of ‘The Haven’.
What The Haven is
The Haven is a 6.5-acre field on the edge of Nettlestone. It is the site of a community-led project which aims to give this recently acquired land a new future that will welcome the local community to spend time outdoors and reconnect with nature.
Having worked tirelessly to secure the site for local use, there is now much work to be done with site management, repairing existing buildings and creating new spaces.
Skills as well as money
Nettlestone and Seaview Shed members have been involved in the project for some time and decided that a donation towards some of the work required was a very worthy local project to support financially.
Additionally, ‘Shed’ members have offered their skills and expertise to help with the many and varied renovation and repairs needed on the site’s buildings.
