The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is pleased to announce Jo Grindley, from Gurnard, Isle of Wight, as its newest official ambassador.

Jo, CMO/CCO of America’s Cup team Land Rover BAR, has been a passionate supporter of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust for the last 12 years. As an ambassador, she will continue to help raise the profile of the Trust through her active involvement in sports marketing and personal passion for sailing.

Frank Fletcher, CEO of the Trust, explained how proud the charity is to have Jo involved:

“We are delighted that Jo has agreed to become an ambassador having been such a huge supporter over the last 12 years; we look forward to Jo’s increased involvement and support.”

He continued,

“Jo first got involved with the Trust back in 2004 when she helped with the marketing and messaging, playing an instrumental role in securing our three year tenure as official Charity of Skandia Cowes Week.”

Her support has continued ever since.

Jo commented,

“The Trust has gone from strength to strength in the last few years and this is testament to the hard work they do, growing organically through the impact they have on young people around the country. Stepping up to the role of Ambassador, I look forward to spending more time on the water with these truly inspirational young people and I will endeavour to raise the profile of this great charity.”

Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust
The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, a national organisation set up 13 years ago by internationally renowned yachtswoman Dame Ellen MacArthur, gives young people in recovery from cancer the opportunity to take part in sailing trips to rebuild their confidence.

The Trust builds long term relationships through the Return to Sail programme and the Graduate Volunteer programme, and works with every young person Principal Treatment Centre in the UK. To date, the charity has enabled over 1,500 young people to take part in sailing trips. The Trust receives no government funding and relies entirely on voluntary donations to provide sailing trips free of charge to the young people.
