It is now even easier to search for a company on the Island that has been approved by the Isle of Wight Council’s Trading Standards service.
For several years, the service has run a website called ‘Buy With Confidence’ where residents can see a list of traders that have given their commitment to trading fairly. Every business listed has undergone a series of detailed checks before being approved as a member of the scheme.
The website has now been given an overhaul to make it much easier to search for firms and it has also been incorporated into the Isle of Wight Council’s main website.
The new-look site can be found at www.iwight.com/bwc and visitors can either search for a company name or use groups to find anything from approved builders to mobile discos.
Any firms wishing to apply to join the scheme can also do so via the new look website using an online form or they can request a paper copy.
