New NHS Trust CEO honours ‘compassionate and dedicated’ staff on day one

The new Chief Executive at Isle of Wight NHS Trust has paid tribute to ‘compassionate and dedicated’ NHS staff.

On her first day in the role, Penny Emerit, said,

“Today is my first official day as Chief Executive of both Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. It is a privilege to lead these two organisations, each unique in their own way, but both with the same commitment and dedication to patients, staff and local communities.

“I am excited for what we can achieve together, working across the two organisations to genuinely transform services and working with local partners to serve our populations.

“As I take on the Isle of Wight Chief Executive role, I can already see that there is a lot of excellent work going on across the Trust and I want to pay tribute to the compassionate and dedicated people working to support the Island community.

“I look forward to working with colleagues at the Trust and partners on the Island to continue to improve our services and make healthcare sustainable.”
