New open call exhibition spurred by Banksy quote invites creatives to respond

Peer Studios and Vtown Gallery are set to host their inaugural open call exhibition, scheduled to run from 9th to 17th March 2024.

The event kicks off with an opening reception on Friday, 8th March, from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Engaging the community through social media
Drawing inspiration from their online community, the organisers turned to Instagram to select a theme for the exhibition.

Responding to the call, followers chose the iconic quote attributed to Banksy, asserting that,

“Art should disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed.”

Unveiling “In the Mind’s Eye”
In response to the community’s choice, the exhibition is aptly named “In the Mind’s Eye.”

This title captures the ethos of the event, which aims to provoke thought and evoke emotions through artistic expression.

Welcoming artists from near and afar
Artists, both local and beyond, are invited to submit their work for consideration by 28th February.

This inclusive approach ensures a diverse selection of pieces for the curated exhibition.
