Vectis Decorative & Fine Arts Society start their season of lectures this Thursday (11th October) with Stunners: Pre-Raphaelite Models and Muses by Dr Anne Anderson.
The models for E. Burne-Jones and D.G. Rossetti were also wives, mistresses and even artists in their own right. The life stories of these ‘Stunners’ is as seductive as their painted images.
Who were Lizzie, Fanny, Alexa, Georgie and Maria and why do they figure so prominently in the paintings of Rossetti and Burne-Jones?
