In preparation for this year’s ‘Open Studios’ event, when Island artists open their studios to the public, well-known artist Malcolm Winter AGAvA has extended his studio and has had a new adjoining gallery built.
Malcolm said,
“Because over the years I have had so many people visit during the ‘Open Studios’ weekend and at times it became a little overcrowded, I have decided to extend my studio and make a new gallery space.”
Dedicated working space as well as gallery area
Having visited Malcolm before, when space was at a premium, the new extension is certainly a great improvement. With a dedicated working space as well as gallery area these new additions are both light and airy and for those who want to browse his work the room is comfortable.
Malcolm, concentrates on marine and aeronautical related work, but has a good selection of other subjects to suit all tastes, including many scenes of the Island.
Open Studios and beyond
Having opened the extension to his home at 12 St Michaels Road, St Helens, Malcolm will not only welcome visitors during the ‘Open Studios’ event but is open, by appointment, to those wishing to view his art work at any time.
Malcolm also has a Website where some of his work can be viewed. St Helens is in the Eastern Wight for ‘Open Studios’ and galleries are therefore open from 25th July.
