Thanks to Barry for his report from the Newchurch Male Voice Choir (MVC) tour to Cornwall. Well done to everyone involved. Ed

Newchurch Male Voice Choir Cornwall TourThree years ago (2007) Newchurch MVC were the first non-Cornish choir to perform at the Eden Project and were so well received and acclaimed that they were immediately invited back to perform in the Mediterranean Biome again at Christmas the same year!

We finally made it back this year and once again had a very successful concert at Eden on Sunday afternoon (Oct 24) in the same Biome and the following day, in a joint concert with the Tamar Valley MVC, sang in Fowey Church, Town Quay and raised £731 for the RNLI.

So far this year we’ve sung at 11 venues; Bonchurch, Ryde, Winchester, Shanklin, Bembridge, Gurnard, Newchurch, Sandown, Ventnor, Eden Project (St Austell) & Fowey and are already committed to eight engagements next year 2011. One at a new at a new venue for the choir, Gatcombe Church and, a return to the Fairford Music Festival.

The Choir continues to grow and now has 41 singers (10 Tenors; 7 2nd Tenors; 13 Baritones and 11 Basses) and continues to be under the baton of Roy Bevan as Conductor and Jenny Riddell piano Accompanist.
