October half term saw local families head to the Newport Family Hub for their launch and open day.
Hosted by Council and Barnardo’s staff and volunteers, the day provided an opportunity for members of the public to look around the newly transformed Newport Family Hub building and enjoy some family-related activities.
This included information stalls promoting family services, entertainment, and refreshments and was a great opportunity for those who have not been to a Family Hub or Centre before or wanted a reminder of the services available.
20 services attending
Some of the younger visitors also enjoyed face painting, magic shows, singing and a colouring competition.
The Family Information Hub service, Library service, along with Home-Start and Break Out Youth were some of the 20 services there, offering advice and information on how services work together to support Island families.
