Nigel Farage’s comeback as Reform UK leader sparks surge in membership says local candidate

This shared by Sarah Morris, IW East prospective parliamentary candidate for Reform UK in the General Election. In her own words. Ed

Following Nigel Farage’s announcement yesterday Reform UK have been gaining a new member every five seconds.

Nigel has returned as leader of Reform UK, taking over at the helm from Richard Tice who brilliantly kept Reforms momentum going these past few years. Nigel will be standing as a candidate in Clacton.

Farage: “One of the dullest” elections ever seen
His initial decision not to stand was based on the fact he would have next to no time to mount a full campaign.  He has been out everyday promoting Reform and giving press conferences. In his own words, he said “this election has been one of the dullest” he has ever seen.

Neither Rishi or Keir are offering us anything new, and their lack lustre campaigns so far have not enthused anyone who wasn’t going to vote to do so.

Farage said he felt guilty for not standing
He was constantly being asked by members of the public why he wasn’t standing, and it got him thinking.

He said after he gave himself a day off on Sunday, doing a bit fishing and taking the dogs for a walk he felt a pang of guilt. He can sense what we are all feeling, that change needs to happen and fast.

Local candidates ready to “claim back country”
Here on the Island both Sarah Morris and Ian Pickering have been overwhelmed by the positive messages and support that yesterdays news brought.

They said,

“Nigel has a lot to give and we are ready to follow him on the path to claiming back our country. We need services that work, more money in our pockets and trust that our children will be taught to think and not just what to think at school.

“We need people in Westminster who know how we feel because they truly listen. We need MPs who live in the real world, not in the Westminster bubble. Our country needs Reform, and Reform needs you.”
