This in from George at Cowes RNLI. In his own words. Ed
Cowes’ new RNLI lifeboat was involved in its first emergency early today, when it was launched to go to the aid of a small fishing boat.
The 21 fishing boat, Low Tide, with two people on board, had informed Solent coastguards that it had suffered steering failure in Osborne Bay.
The Atlantic 85 lifeboat, Sheena Louise, was launched within minutes of the 1.40 am alert, and eventually towed the fishing boat up the River Medina to Folly Reach.
The lifeboat, helmed by Max Rimington, returned to station at 3.40 am.
