OMG company to survey Island Roads

A technology company that provides ‘image understanding’ products for the defence and engineering industries, has secured a contract with Island Roads to undertake the surveying of the Isle of Wight highway network.

Scanner:OMG Plc’s highways technology arm, Yotta DCL, will be responsible for running ‘scanner surveys’ of the 1,400km of classified and unclassified roads on an annual basis.

They will also be responsible for carrying out ‘Skid Resistance Surveys’ on 650km of classified roads. and provide ‘Detailed Visual Inspections’ for carriageway and footways.

Commenting on the contract win Mark Boyle, Quantity Surveyor, Island Roads said:
