If you’re an artist living and working on the Isle of Wight, you’re sure to have heard of the Open Studios event that takes place during the summer.
Over the course of two weekends in July, artists across the Island open their studios to the public, attracting some 5,000 pairs of feet through their doors each year.
Artists are being urged to register for this event which helps can really help boost their professional development. Getting to hear public feedback face to face is extremely valuable and the exposure also gives artist the opportunity to build their client lists, not to mention the encourage sales of artworks on display.
Cllr George Brown, Isle of Wight Council cabinet member for the economy, tourism, leisure and planning said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for local artists to showcase their work. I hope this event will encourage more people to support local artists and maybe even inspire them to get involved themselves.”
If you don’t have a suitable studio space to open to the public why not consider sharing a space with other artists in the same position?
The deadline to register is Feb 15th. All you have to do is apply online or call 823813 for an entry form.
