Operation Geranium, The Live Music Tour, works to provide a stage for original rock alternative music made affordable and accessible to Community Halls across the Island.
It featured as part of The Ventnor Fringe Festival in 2021, which was also affected by Covid Guidelines.
Two gigs
On Friday 11th March, The Live Music Tour rolls out onto the Road once more raising awareness, and funds, to promote the themes of friendship, good health and a community that shares resolve to help others.
There will be two gigs, one in Yarmouth the other in Ryde.
Voodoo Raven and No Exit in Yarmouth
The CHOYD Hall in Yarmouth will be playing host to the live music gig on Friday 11th March.
The band fronted by ex-Chelsea bass guitar player, Jeff Piccinnini, who also toured as support act for Iggy Pop, Voodoo Raven, play a live set of many original tracks written by Jeff.
Opening the show a return after a long hiatus for No Exit to the venue, the band fronted by Alan Thorne. Alan Thorne, a Trustee at Age UK IW and music promoter, Steve Double, to design the multi-award winning Operation Geranium concept.
A £2 Donation will fund a Geranium Delivery and the night kicks off at 7.30pm.
Then on to Ryde
Aspire Ryde plays host to the second night of Operation Geranium 2022 Live Music Tour.
Local youth rock band Only Way open the show at 7pm, followed by garage rock punk band, No Exit, then alternative metal rock punk from Voodoo Raven
The Baggy Wrinkles Blues Band
The Baggy Wrinkles Blues Band close the night. Frank Aellio, lead vocalist, lent his powerful blues soul voice to hit tours for Cozy Powell and toured supporting Black Sabbath. The Band’s drummer was in the original line up of Brummie rockers Judas Priest.
Not seemingly in the mood to retire from creating great music they are coming along to help people enjoy an evening of great live bands and support the work of your local charities.
The Aspire Creative Hub Team have been setting up and running Rehearsal Space and mentoring young up and coming bands running a regular Youth Music Development club.

What is Operation Geranium?
Operation Geranium started at Care In The Garden CIC, Park Lane Wootton in May 2020.
Geranium Plant Gift Packs, grown by local people with support needs, were doorstep delivered by 40 volunteers recruited by Age UK IW, and community Hubs to support isolation of vulnerable residents across the Island.
Subsequently local Arts Creatives donated work which will be published to distribute 50,000 free postcards, re-connecting people affected by travel restrictions.
