Pappa Clip: Appeal Over A Missing Bus

An extract from the Island Independent. Submitted by Pappa Clip. Ed

Southern Vectis today issued an appeal for help in finding a lost bus and driver.

The bus has been missing for some days now, and all attempts by the company to locate its whereabouts have so far failed.

“We have to admit the fault is ours”, a company spokepersonman explained.

“Due to staff shortages we had to send out a new driver before he was fully conversant with the no 8 route; and we haven’t seen him since he left the Sandown library halt, on time, two days ago.

“Our first reaction, naturally enough, was that both bus and driver had been abducted for some reason. Our buses are of course worth a great deal. But various sightings now give us reason to believe they are still out there somewhere, unable to find a way back.”

Lost in a time warp?
There has even been suggestions of a time-warp factor, a space continuum thing. One report for instance has them turning into a long cul de sac but never coming out again. Three times.

At first we tended to dismiss this eventuality as a piece of TV inspired fantasy of course.

But with the passing of time we are not so sure. Anyway, if anyone reading this notices a no8 bus passing and re-passing their house, driven by a worried looking driver, please contact Southern Vectis head office without delay.

We hope you enjoyed this week’s spoof from Pappa Clip
