Parents of Ventnor Middle School pupils will need to act fast to make alternative arrangements for their children on Monday and Tuesday, as part of the school is due to be closed whilst essential maintenance works take place.
We understand that loose windows need repairing and as asbestos may have been used when the building was constructed, the main building has to be closed whilst works are carried out.
The council tell us that air testing will be carried out afterwards to make sure no asbestos dust has been released.
As a result, the school will be closed to Year 5 and 6 pupils on Monday and to Year 7 and 8 pupils on Tuesday.
It’s hoped that the school will be will be open to all pupils as normal on Wednesday.
