“don’t understand why diesel is over a quid though when a barrel of oil is now under $41” Me neither, but it certainly discredits the propaganda from the Footprint Trust that “Soaring oil prices and thus fuel prices will continue to be the norm”, especially when oil stood at $150 a barrel in July last year. Happy to agree with you on that. You’d think if borrowing was the cause of the problem, the rates would go up to discourage it!

I feel sorry for people whose income depends on heir savings – so much for Uncle Gordon’s attachment to Prudence…
