‘Phil The Trolley’ in Foodbank fund, food and awareness raising campaign

Trolley Push:Thanks to Sarah for this reminder of Isle of Wight foodbank’s big fundraising event next week. Ed

Isle of Wight Foodbank will be holding a fundraising and awareness event this Thursday (9th May). Volunteers and supporters will be pushing ‘Phil The Trolley’ in towns and villages throughout the day.

Arriving in style
Our day will start with ‘Phil the Trolley’ arriving in style on the Hovercraft.

Hovertravel will be giving Phil a special send off at 9.30am and will be hosting a ‘Green Isle of Wight foodbank day’, with our information stand, textile recycling bin and collection buckets, within both terminals.

Tour of the Island
The tour begins through Ryde and during the course of the day the Trolley will visit Newport, Cowes, Freshwater, Ventnor, Shanklin, Sandown and Ryde as well as additional support coming from Tesco Extra in Ryde, Spar in Wootton, Waitrose in East Cowes.

During the day we are hoping that our collection buckets will be filled with donations, our trolley filled with food and that all our volunteers feet stand up to the challenge!

Our aim is to raise awareness and crucial funds as 45% of the people we are feeding per week are children here on our Island.
