Pick of The VB Week

Well, the day has come, finally the Mill Bay planning application will go to the Planning Committee for a decision on whether it should be approved or refused.

Pick of The VB Week - Planning Committee Visit Mill Bay VentnorThe last week on VB has been pretty dominated by Mill Bay news since we learnt that the case officer for the application, Mr John Mackenzie recommended approval of the application to develop the site with a five storey building, housing 14 flats.

There’ve been lots of other things going on too, including the rescue of a dog named Meg, from the rocks by the Spyglass.

There was of course the IW Radio People’s People Awards, two of which were awarded to the amazing Asa Singleton. More to come on that later on VB.

Then there was the shock news of leader of the council, Andy Sutton resigning due to alleged shenanigans happening within the Planning Committee during his watch which have had to be investigated by the Standard Board.

If you’re following the Mill Bay Development, don’t forget that Alex Dyke’s radio phone-in today will be dedicated to the Regeneration of Ventnor. Meg Mortimer will be in the studio taking calls between noon and 1pm and that we will be reporting LIVE from the council chambers during this Planning Committee from 4pm today.

Many thanks once again to Dave for use of his photos.
