Andy shares details of this current event. Ed

Steve Double is a longstanding employee of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust working in its Estates department.

This exhibition at the ‘Full Circle Exhibition Space’, St Mary’s uses Steve’s personal collection of artworks to chronicle the story of his life.

From music festival to ‘Tolpuddle Martyrs’ Festival’
The story commences in 1968, age 7, when his parents took him and his brother to live in Australia.

Vivid incidents and circumstances brought them back to the UK and the first artwork on display records his discovery of music festivals and his first visit to Glastonbury in 1978 and concludes with his most recent visit in July 2016 to the ‘Tolpuddle Martyrs’ Festival’ and a poster commemorating the life of the late Jo Cox MP.

‘Millennium Awards Fellowship’
The artworks chart and illustrate Steve’s long involvement in music Festivals and events not least on the Isle of Wight.

In 2004 he was awarded a ‘Millennium Awards Fellowship’ for his … ‘personal commitment and achievement as an individual in strengthening and enriching their communities’.

Steve said:

“I hope visitors to St. Mary’s enjoy the exhibition and find something of interest. My life has been shaped by my interest in art and music and I am pleased to be able to share this with others.”

Steve has organised a performance by singer and guitarist Steve Young in the Full Circle Restaurant on 9th December between 12:30hrs and 13:30hrs.

Entry to the performance is free.
