We’d been hearing backstage a lot about the preparation and equipment that P!nk had brought along and been told to expect quite a show.
A huge crane was put up overnight behind the stage, so Ms Pink could be hoisted up in a box, ready for her to jump out on to the stage.
After building the anticipation for a couple of minutes with soaring guitars and phenomenal graphics playing on the huge screen at the back of the stage, the giant 10ft tall cannon was fired (about 2:55 in) and she floated to the floor. Not surprisingly, the crowd went mad.
She certainly know how to put on a show – and the crowd duly showed their appreciation, singing along to all of the tracks.
Tidbit: Festival organiser John Gidding told VB about an hour before Pink’s performance that the decision of whether her Pink-ness would be going up in the box was to be decided five minutes before the show started – only if the wind at the time allowed.
(If you’ve got bits of video of the festival – do get in touch)
(Shot on a mobile, so quality is not as fab as VB normal does.)
Update: 16:46 P!ink Finale video
We did a little searching and came across a video of the end of Pink’s show, where she was zooming around in the air above the audience’s heads while spinning upside down.
A pretty good way to go out.
Update 18:05: More of Pink flying around
