Police in Shanklin are appealing for witnesses after an altercation between a motorist and a pedestrian on the evening of Thursday, 26 September 2013.

The incident occurred in the High Street at the traffic lights by the junction with Victoria Road at about 9.30pm, when the driver of a purple Honda Civic was struck by a traffic bollard after it is alleged a man pushed it through his driver’s side window.

The victim, a man in his 20s did not need medical treatment, but was left shocked by the unprovoked attack.

Description of suspect
The suspect is described as a white man, aged between 25 and 29-years-old, chubby build, about 5ft 9ins tall with short dark hair.
