Elderly woman dies in car incident despite no collision

This in from police, in their own words.

Our thoughts are with Mrs Bradshaw’s family and friends. Ed

Police are investigating following a road traffic incident on Sunday, May 3, at around 1.30pm on Stroud Wood Road in Ryde.

A blue Kia Sedona was overtaking cyclists when 75 year-old Joyce Bradshaw, who was in the vehicle, sustained an injury. Sadly Joyce who was from Sandown was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kia was the only vehicle involved in the incident and it was not involved in a collision.

Police are keen to trace a woman who was driving a dark coloured car who stopped to offer first aid advice before an ambulance crew arrived. Cyclists in the area who may have also seen what happened are also being asked to call us.
