Police appeal after pedestrian injured by car

Officers were called at 1.09am on Sunday, September 9, 2012 to a report of a pedestrian injured in a collision with a car on Long Lane near the junction with Buckbury Lane.

The 25-year-old man from Southsea had received bruising, which was not life-threatening.

Driver failed to stop at the scene
Inspector Martin Goodall of Hampshire Constabulary’s Isle of Wight Roads Policing Unit said: “Initial enquiries suggest the car failed to stop at the scene, but it could be the driver did not realise a collision had occurred.

“I am appealing for any motorists who were travelling on Long Lane at around 1am on Sunday to contact police if they saw a man walking along the road or think they may have hit something or someone.
