Confrontation between two men prompts police appeal on the Isle of Wight

Officers are investigating reports of two men fronting up to each other while holding poles in the Gordon Road area near Mill Hill Road in Cowes.

There is no confirmation at the moment of any assault, victims or injuries during the incident, which happened at around 2.30pm on Sunday, October 26, 2014.

However, witnesses reported concern about what could have happened.

The first man was described as:

White
6 ft tall
Skinny build
Wearing a green parker jacket and jeans

The second man was described as:

White
5 ft 5 ins tall
Stocky build
Wearing a grey jumper and jeans
