Police appeal following fatal Isle of Wight road collision

Isle of Wight police are appealing for information following a fatal collision on White Rails Road in Newport yesterday evening (Thursday 15 July).

They were called at 6.45pm to a report of a collision between a car and a motorbike.

The motorcyclist was transported to St Mary’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, despite the best efforts of the emergency services.

Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A road closure was put in place but the carriageway has now re-opened.
