The man fell to the floor. He did not see his attacker. He later discovered £35 was missing.

Victim was struck from behind
Detective Constable Peter Russell said:

“This was an unprovoked assault where the victim was struck from behind. It is likely that the area would have been busy and I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or knows who is responsible.

“I would like to remind people to be vigilant when out walking and to be aware of their personal safety. Keep valuables and money out of sight and where possible stick to busy or well lit locations if walking alone.”
