Police Appeal For First-Aider To Serious Assault

CCTV manDetectives are releasing a CCTV image of a potential key witness in a fresh appeal for information two months after a serious assault was reported in Ryde on the Isle of Wight.

Police were called to the Qube nightclub in Ryde at around 2am on Saturday, July 16, 2011 after a report of an assault on a 25-year-old man from Newport, Isle of Wight.

Detectives are appealing for more witnesses to come forward, including people who were in the Qube nightclub on Friday night (July 15) into Saturday morning (July 16).

Appeal for first aider to come forward
Police are particularly keen to trace a man, believed to be of Eastern European origin, who gave first aid to the victim at the nightclub moments after the alleged assault.

He was seen on CCTV and detectives are now in a position to publish an image of this man, who is not suspected of any crime.
