Police Appeal For Witness After Suspected Hit-And-Run Collision

Police are issuing a description of a possible important witness after a teenager was injured in a suspected hit-and-run collision on the Isle of Wight.

An 18-year-old man from Cowes, Isle of Wight, lost consciousness and received cuts and bruises when he was involved in a collision with a car in the town.

Junction of Mill Hill Rd and Westhill Rd
The collision happened while he was walking at the junction of Mill Hill Road and Westhill Road in Cowes between 7.10pm and 7.30pm on Sunday, June 24, 2012.

The vehicle involved was described as a black car, which the driver did not stop at the scene.

Witness description
It’s reported a member of the public approached the injured teenager while he was on the floor shortly after the collision.

This potential witness was described as:

> White
> Aged in his early 40s
> Medium build
> Short grey gelled hair
> Clean shaven
> Tanned complexion
> He was wearing black rectangular thick framed glasses, and a dark top with a collar.
