Police Appeal For Witnesses After Road Traffic Collision In Newport

Photo by Tom WyldPolice are appealing for more witnesses after a road traffic collision in Newport on the Isle of Wight.

A single decker bus and a Vauxhall Astra were involved in the collision at the junction of the High Street and St. James’ Street shortly after 5am this morning (Thursday, March 8, 2012).

The Vauxhall driver, a man aged in his 20s from Newport, and the bus driver, a man aged in his 40s from Ventnor, received injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police would like to thank members of the public who have helped with enquiries so far.

Officers are appealing for more witnesses, particularly a dog walker who it’s believed saw the collision but left the scene before police arrived.
