Police appeal for missing Ventnor man

Police are appealing for information as to the whereabouts of Paul Smith, who has gone missing from Ventnor on the Isle of Wight.

Paul Smith:The 58 year old was last seen in the Parkhurst area of Newport on Saturday, March 22, 2014.

He is described as white, stocky build, ginger hair and freckles.

He is believed to be wearing a beige top, blue jeans and boots.

PC Lucinda Critchlow said:

“We are concerned for Paul’s welfare, if you have seen him or know where he is please contact me as soon as possible.

“It is thought that Paul may have travelled out of Hampshire, possibly Dorset, Devon or Cornwall areas.”

Update 6.06pm: Detective Inspector Mark Tutton of Isle of Wight CID said:

“I’d like to thank members of the public who have given us new information during our enquiries today (Friday). Detectives are acting on this information, which includes possible more recent sightings on the island.

“I remain interested in hearing from anyone who has seen Paul Smith recently and anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts or intentions.

“We would also appeal to Paul directly to contact police to let us know his location.”
