Police issue appeal following assault

Police have issued a witness appeal following an assault that took place in Ryde in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said:

“We can confirm an investigation is underway into a report of an assault in Warwick Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight during the early hours of Sunday, December 14, 2014.

“A man aged in his 20s was assaulted and taken to hospital for medical attention.

“Two men were arrested on suspicion of causing grievious bodily harm (GBH) with intent. They were questioned and then bailed until February 2015 pending further enquiries.”
