Police Name Cyclist Killed Following Fall From Bicycle

A 47-year-old woman killed in a fall from her bicycle on the B3399 at Brook Shute on Sunday has been named by police as Kathryn Anne Hollis of Brighstone.

Mrs Hollis died at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport yesterday (Mon) morning.

Paying tribute, her family said: “Our gorgeous mum, wife, daughter, elder sister and friend.

“A primary school teacher who loved the kids as much as they loved her.

“A happy, healthy and beautiful mum of four who had recently completed her second triathlon, getting a personal best – we are so proud of you Kathryn.

“Musical and a music lover – with all four of her children piano playing and loving music just as she has inspired them.

“A beautiful bedtime storyteller whose love of travel was infectious.

“We will always remember Kathryn at her very best and at her peak – fit, beautiful, content and loved by everyone.”

Police are appealing to anyone who saw the incident at around 11am on Sunday to contact PC Simon Richardson at Shanklin Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting Operation Dowlas.
