This in from the police, in their own words. Ed

Police are now in a position to name a man who died after a single vehicle collision in Wroxall on the Isle of Wight.

Thomas Keith Rogers, aged 71 of Shanklin Road, Godshill, lost control of his silver coloured Nissan Qashqa after becoming ill at the wheel and collided with a wall outside of the Four Seasons Public House on Clarence Road, shortly after 5.54pm on Wednesday, May 1.

Officer in the case, PC Geoff Turner of the Isle of Wight Roads Policing Unit said:

“Investigations, and subsequent post mortem examination has shown that Mr Rogers died of natural causes, losing control of his car and colliding with the wall.

“No other person or vehicle was involved. It is of great comfort to the family that no-one was killed in the collision and that there was nothing Mr Rogers could have done to prevent it.

“The family would like to thank emergency services as well as members of the public and staff of the pub for their assistance.”
