Police release CCTV images following late night assault on three women in Newport

Do you recognise these men? Police need to identify them as part of an investigation into an assault in Newport.

Two women had been drinking in the Hogshead on the High Street, and left the bar at around 1.45am on Saturday 21st January this year.

They walked across St Thomas Square and through the alleyway to Pyle Street.

Assaulted in the altercation
At some point on their journey they were joined by three men, who assaulted both of the women following an altercation at the Pyle Street and Town Lane junction at around 2.10am.

One of the women sustained a broken wrist during this incident, and a third woman was assaulted as she tried to intervene.

The men responsible left the scene on foot.

We ask people to please not speculate on the circumstances surrounding this incident and the events leading up to it, and instead report all information to police.

Enquiries remain ongoing, and as part of the investigation we are asking anyone who knows the men pictured in the CCTV images to please contact us.
