The Police appear to be carrying out a search near the end of Ryde Pier.
Thanks to VentnorBlog reader Eric Lawson who got in touch with us to let you all know about it (here’s how you can too).
He reported that there are four divers wearing dry suits in the water about 50m from the end of the pier.
They’re using a yellow tube, described by Eric as, “shaped like a megaphone, but one that you look through.”
The tide is low at the moment out at the moment, with 1m – 1.5m of water.
There is also a boat in support near by and a large police wagon.
We’ve been in touch with the police to ask for some more details and hope to bring you something shortly.
More details have now emerged and the police are looking for possible witnesses who were on the piece at 11pm, Monday night.
