Police are urging drivers on the Isle of Wight to ensure their unattended vehicles are locked and valuables removed.

In the past four weeks several reports of thefts from vehicles have been made in the Cowes and Wootton areas.

Sergeant Gary Knight of Cowes Neighbourhood Policing Team said:

“In all of the cases reported to us the drivers have left their vehicles insecure. Please help us to keep your property safe by locking your vehicle and not leaving valuables on display.

“It only takes a minute to check and lock your vehicle before you leave it, doing this will help prevent you becoming a victim of vehicle crime.”
