Power cut in Northwood affecting over 1,000 residents

Over 1,000 residents without power as overhead wire comes down.

An overhead wire has come down on Coronation Avenue, affecting power supplies for over 1,000 residents in Northwood.

Southern and Scottish Electric have told On The Wight that until the engineers assess the full extent of the damage, they are unable to say when power will be restored.

In normal circumstances they would expect to have the power restored by later this afternoon. We’ll keep you informed of progress when we hear back from SSE later today.

Thanks to On The Wight reader Thomas Cowley for the heads-up.
