Around 2,000 Southern Electric customers in the Bembridge and Sandown areas are currently experiencing power failures.
Southern Electric confirmed to VB that a safety trip was activated on the network at around 1.20pm.
Investigations are currently underway to find out what caused the problem and although they weren’t able to offer an anticipated time frame for the work to be completed, problems similar to this usually take around three hours to resolve.
Hopefully it will be resolved before tonight.
