Thanks to Pam for sending through details of Monday’s speaker for the excellent Cafe Scientifique. Ed
If you haven’t been lucky enough to get along to one of the previous Cafe Scientifique evenings, next Monday brings another chance.
The speaker will be Professor Jane Falkingham who is Head of the School of Social Sciences at Southampton University. She will be talking about ‘Population Change in the UK’.
I heard her give this excellent talk at the British Science Association Festival in September, which stimulated an hour’s discussion.
Learn more about Green Tank
At the end of the evening David Green will be saying a few words about his Green Tank project.
You may remember a few years ago it was suggested that the Isle of Wight should become an Eco Island. Since then David Green has been bringing together firms, financiers and legal experts who would be interested in ‘green’ projects and he would be interested to know your thoughts on his ideas.
Cafe Scientifique evenings are free, but it is customary to ask participants at the end of the evening for a donation towards the cost of the speaker’s meal and/or travel expenses.
April’s speaker is Prof Hugh Perry (details).
