Residents of an Isle of Wight town will have the chance to find out more about upcoming major projects, following the news that a popular path will close for 27 weeks.
A public meeting will be held at St Catherine’s Church, Ventnor on Tuesday 222nd August, from 6pm.
Cascade walkway to close for six months
In the coming weeks, Rene Howe Walk will close for work – at the same time as coastal defence repairs hit the Esplanade.
The Cascade will remain open to traffic, including for lorries heading further down the Esplanade to the coastal defence work.

Representatives from the Isle of Wight council and Island Roads will use the meeting to explain more about what it all means for residents and business owners.
Attendees will hear from the Isle of Wight council’s coastal environment engineer and other officers about the work being done to repair the collapsed sea wall at Eastern Cliff Esplanade.
15+ month closure
Damage first hit the stretch between Ventnor and Bonchurch in November, and May’s Storm Noa made it worse.
Repairs could take until the end of January 2024.
Meanwhile, work will start in September on Rene Howe Walk, to replace safety railings.
It could last until March.
