Public welcome to council meeting on ferries

Don’t forget that this evening, members of the public are invited to the council’s Task and Finish Group scrutiny meeting where the subject of ferry fares and services will be discussed.

The Group, chaired jointly by Cllr Geoff Lumley (Lab) and Cllr Paul Fuller (Ind), seeks to determine what the council can do to ensure “more effective liaison between the cross Solent ferry operators and the Island community on key aspects such as fares, frequency and timetabling”.

Members of the public are invited to attend and are given 15 minutes at the beginning of the meeting to ask questions.
Clr Lumley has now informed us that there won’t be public question time, instead members of the public should email him beforehand on [email protected]

Following tonight’s meeting, representatives from the ferry companies will be attending a meeting in January to give evidence to the Group.

If you’d like to attend tonight’s meeting, it starts at 6pm sharp in the chamber at County Hall.
