pure Ventnor

Pure events are returning to the Island – most of us will have no idea what that means – but ask ‘da yoof’ and they’ll tell you that it means the drug and alcohol free music events are back on the calender.

Teenagers DancingTown Mayor, Susan Scoccia, is sponsoring a Pure music session for young people at the Winter Gardens on Tuesday 19th Feb – 7pm-10pm as part of her involvement in Ventnor Together (yes, apparently it does still exist even though we’ve heard nowt for ages).
Spinning the tunes will be DJ Weste and DJ Freeston (hard core), DJ Matt Austin (chart, commercial, dance, indie), DJ Degreezz (drum and bass) and MC Skatty (though we suspect from his title that he’ll be MCing rather than spinning).

Info for parents
The event is being run by the Safer Neighbourhoods team and from what we hear the last events went down a storm.

You don’t need to worry about how your precious little teenagers are going to get there and back, because Southern Vectis are putting on an extra No.6 bus – which leaves Newport at 6.00pm and will pick up party goers from Chale, Niton and Whitwell.

After they’ve danced their socks off and inevitably gained a few more mobile numbers, they’ll need to head up to Boots to catch the 10.15 pumpkin home.

There could only be one place suitable for such an extravaganza, it is of course the Ventnor Winter Gardens.
